Installation
Jumpers
Step 16. Issue the STA command and answer Y <Enter> to accept the
new hardware configuration (see STATUS on page P.15.53).
Step 17. Inspect the relay targets to confirm that the relay reads the
added I/O interface board(s).
You can see the new control inputs in the target listings by
using a terminal, the
ACSELERATOR QuickSet
®
SEL-5030
software program, or the front panel.
Step 18. Use a communications terminal to issue one of the following
commands:
➢ TAR OUT201 <Enter> (for the 200-addresses slot)
➢ TAR OUT301 <Enter> (for the 300-addresses slot)
➢ TAR OUT401 <Enter> (for the 400-addresses slot)
Alternatively, from the front-panel
MAIN menu, select RELAY
ELEMENTS
, and press the Down Arrow pushbutton to go to
ROW 128 (for the 200-addresses slot), ROW 132 (for the
300-addresses slot), or
ROW 136 (for the 400-addresses slot).
Step 19. Follow your company standard procedure to return the relay to
service.
Ethernet Card
You can add communications protocols to the relay by purchasing the
Ethernet card option. Factory-installed in the rear relay PORT 5, the Ethernet
card provides Ethernet ports for industrial applications that process data traffic
between the relay and a LAN (local area network).
Jumpers
The relay contains jumpers that configure the relay for certain operating
modes. The jumpers are located on the main board (the top board) and the I/O
interface boards (one or two boards located immediately below the main
board).
Main Board Jumpers
The jumpers on the main board of the relay perform these functions:
➤ Temporary/emergency password disable
➤ Circuit breaker and disconnect control enable
Figure 2.15 shows the positions of the main board jumpers. The main board
jumpers are in two locations. The password disable jumper and circuit breaker
control jumper are at the front of the main board. The serial port jumpers are
on the EIA-232 card.
Password and Circuit Breaker Jumpers
You can access the password disable jumper and circuit breaker control
jumper without removing the main board from the relay cabinet. Remove the
relay front cover to view these jumpers (use appropriate ESD precautions).
The password and circuit breaker jumpers are located on the front of the main
board, immediately left of the power connector (see Figure 2.14). There are
four jumpers denoted D, BREAKER, PASSWORD, and A from left to right
(position D is on the left). Position PASSWORD is the password disable
jumper; position BREAKER is the circuit breaker control enable jumper.
