accounting start-mode

Parameters
with-ip: Specifies the mode in which the device must obtain the IP address of a requesting client and
add the IP address to an accounting start request before this request can be sent to the RADIUS server.
without-ip: Specifies the mode in which the device sends the RADIUS server an accounting start
request without the IP address of the requesting client.
Description
Use the accounting start-mode command to configure the sending mode of accounting start requests
in a RADIUS scheme.
z In with-ip mode, the device must obtain the IP address of the requesting client and add the IP
address to an accounting start request before this request can be sent to the RADIUS server. If the
device fails to obtain the client's IP address 60 seconds after the client gets online, it logs the client
off.
z In without-ip mode, the device sends the RADIUS server an accounting start request without the
IP address of the requesting client. The client is allowed to be online even though the device cannot
obtain the client's IP address.
By default, the sending mode of accounting start requests in a RADIUS scheme is without-ip.

Parameters
times: Maximum number of attempts to send an Accounting-On message, ranging from 1 to 256 and
defaulting to 15. If the maximum number has been reached but the switch still receives no response
from the CAMS, the switch stops sending Accounting-On messages.
