displays the corresponding error code and description (see [SENSe<Ch>:

It is essential to perform the calibration with the same "Freq Sweep Mode" settings
as for the actual measurement; otherwise the calibration is deactivated ("Cal Off").
The Calibration Manager dialog provides concise information on possible mode
mismatches.
A scalar power calibration cannot be created or used in swept mode.

5.10.2 Sweep Type tab
Defines the sweep variable (frequency/power/time) and the position of the sweep
points across the sweep range.

Lin Freq
In a linear frequency sweep, the stimulus frequency is swept in equidistant steps over
the continuous frequency range. The frequency range (sweep range) and the internal
generator power can be specified in the "Stimulus" settings (see Chapter 5.8.1, "Stimu-
lus tab", on page 414). The step width between two consecutive sweep points is con-
stant and given by <Span>/(n - 1) where n is the specified "Number of Points" (n > 1).
"Lin Freq" is the default sweep type. In a Cartesian diagram, the measurement result is
displayed as a trace over a linear frequency scale (as known, e.g., from spectrum ana-
lyzers). The following example shows a "Lin Freq" sweep with the forward transmission
parameter S
21
as measured quantity, and a "dB Mag" scaled y-axis.
