Network - Multiconsole Sessions (8.0)
Every console has a Default Session. All consoles within a Session share the same Play data. Hitting
“Save” in any console causes all consoles to save the Play to their local hard disk. Save actions shall
have no noticeable effect on connected consoles other than to delay loading or quitting until a save is
completed.
You may create any number of individual multiconsole Sessions in the same network. Each additional
console can access and work independently with the data of the Play in the Server. Playback controls
are shared (See Multiple Users - Global Functions
).
All Sessions set up in a network are shown and synchronized at the Welcome Screen.
• All consoles on a network list all the Sessions that it can Join.
• A console started in Offline mode does not communicate with any other console and does not
join a Session.
A Session contains the following data:
• The user-defined name
• An optional password
• DMX mapping between the console patch universes (1-32) and all supported Ethernet-based
lighting protocols.
A Session may be Inactive (no consoles are in the Session), Active with one or more consoles
connected, or Full (when 7 consoles are connected to the Session.)
A software version may be displayed for any given Session, indicating the software version of the
current Server. All consoles in a Session must be using the same software version.
Multiconsole Sessions - Global Functions (8.0)
All Play data is Global and stored in every console. All Session members track recorded changes from
any member.
All Session members track changes from any member
• Content on all Playbacks.
• Temporary’ content of A, B, Blind and Master fields
• Changes in fully blind tabs are not distributed until Record/Update occurs.
Multiple Main Playbacks
Nine (9) additional “main playbacks” allow independent playback of a "console-local" sequence from
multiple consoles (every user can choose which main playback field 1-9 to assign to their main
playback) (hold SETUP & PLAYBACK). Additional main playbacks are filtered through the
partitioning system.
