Cobalt 8.1 - 20181029
229
Channels controlled from a different main playback will have a green level.
Master Playbacks
The 80 master fields are global.
Partitioning
Within a Session, partitions can be used to subdivide channel control, recording and Main Playback
functions.
Partitions are conceptually Filters that filter out all channels not included in the partition.
Updating and recording presets will record values for all recordable channels in the partition
and will not affect channels that are outside of the partition.
Freeze/Blackout & Grand Master
Freeze is activated locally and will freeze all outputs. Blackout and Gand Master will do the same.
They are all global.
Inputs/Outputs
To ensure seamless operation it is recommended in a multiconsole system (multiuser or with a
backup) that a network is used to distribute DMX and to interface to other I/O and show control
protocols.
Multiconsole Sessions - Local Functions (8.0)
Basically everything is local except the global features described above. See Multiple Users - Global
Functions. There are some special cases:
Capture
Each user has its own Capture mode, but all captures channels are handled on a global system level on
a first come, first served basis. This means that if a channel can be controlled from two consoles and
one of them has Captured it - it is "owned" by this console until released.
Group Wheel Mode
Group Wheel mode is local for each console - just like all other channel control functions.
Multiconsole Sessions - Patching, Users and Partitions (8.0)
To set up a multiconsole Session in a system it is important to do things in a specific order. It is also
important to structure the working method of the Users since they will all be sharing the same system.
