3.2.1 Enabling Multicast and Configuring Limit on the Number of Route

By default, the limit on the number
of multicast route entries is 256
Note:
To guard against attacks on any socket not in use, S3600 series provide the following
functions to achieve enhanced security:
z The system opens RAW Socket used by multicast routing only if multicast routing is
enabled.
z If you disable multicast routing, RAW Socket used by multicast routing will also be
closed.
Perform the following steps to implement the above-mentioned functions:
z Use the multicast routing-enable command to enable multicast routing and to
open RAW Socket used by multicast routing.
z Use the undo multicast routing-enable command to disable multicast routing as
well as close RAW Socket.
Caution:
The other multicast configurations do not take effect until multicast is enabled.
