Example
The following example displays the SNMP engine ID.

show snmp engineID

45.18 snmp-server enable traps
To enable the device to send SNMP traps, use the snmp-server enable traps
Global Configuration mode command. To disable all SNMP traps, use the no form
of the command.
Syntax
snmp-server enable traps
no snmp-server enable traps
Default Configuration
SNMP traps are enabled.
Command Mode
Global Configuration mode
User Guidelines
If no snmp-server enable traps has been entered, you can enable failure traps by
using snmp-server trap authentication as shown in the example.
Example
The following example enables SNMP traps except for SNMP failure traps.
switchxxxxxx(config)#
snmp-server enable traps
switchxxxxxx(config)#
no snmp-server trap authentication
