Routing with RIP is disabled.
You enable the RIP protocol with the router rip command.
Commands in the RIPv2 Router configuration mode
This section describes commands that you can call up in the RIPv2 Router configuration
mode.
In the Global configuration mode, enter the
router rip command to change to this mode.
● If you exit the RIPv2 Router configuration mode with the
exit command, you return to the
Global configuration mode.
● If you exit the RIPv2 Router configuration mode with the
end command, you return to the
Privileged EXEC mode.
Note
These commands are availab
le only with layer 3.
This command automatically summarizes routing information according to IP classes. When
possible, subnets are summarized according to classes (A, B or C) and entered as single
routes. As default, this function is enabled.
You are in the RIPv2 Router configuration mode.
