To configure an Gigabit Ethernet interface, use the interface gigabitethernet command. To revert to the
default values, use the no form of the command.
interface gigabitethernet slot/port
cdp enable
channel-group group-id [force]
isns profile-name
interface gigabitethernet slot/port
no cdp enable
no channel-group
no isns profile-name
Syntax Description
Defaults Disabled.
Command Modes Configuration mode.

Usage Guidelines You can specify a range of interfaces by issuing a command with the following example format:
interface gigabitethernet1/1space-space2space,spacegigabitethernet3/1space-space2
Examples The following example configures the Gigabit Ethernet interface at slot 4 port 1.
switch# config terminal
switch(config)# interface gigabitethernet 4/1
switch(config-if)#
The following example enters a IP address and subnet mask for the selected Gigabit Ethernet interface.
switch(config-if)# ip address 10.1.1.100 255.255.255.0
slot/port Specifies a slot number and port number.
cdp enable Enables Cisco Discovery Protocol (CDP) configuration parameters.
channel-group group-id Adds to or removes from a PortChannel. The range is 1 to 128.
force Forcefully adds a port.
isns profile-name Specifies the profile name to tag the interface. Maximum length is 64
characters.
