9 Permission concept
9.1 Mode levels and passwords
The access to the functions of the device is regulated through so-called mode levels. With
passwords the mode levels can be protected against unauthorized access
.
The mode levels include functions for different responsibilities. The following mode levels
are available:
0 Standby Clean display, lock system.
1 Standard operation Operate device if no customer-specific mode lev-
el T has been created.
2 Extended settings Change presettings for labeling.
3 Local data maintenance Maintain local data.
4 Data maintenance in distributed
databases
Maintain global data (with devices in system net-
work).
5 Service Configure devices, interfaces and database.
T Adapted operation Use customer-specific released functions.
Mode level T is special. This mode level can be set as per customer's requirements inde-
pendently from the other mode levels
. The user has access to exactly the functions he re-
quires for his work, see page 120.
The display unit indicates the number of the active mode level with a
key symbol, e. g for mode level 5.
9.2 Changing mode level
Press <Key>, see page 66.
A list appears showing the available mode levels.
Enter the number of the mode level.
or
Select mode level and confirm.
When changing to superior, password-protected mode level a password inquiry ap-
pears.
Enter password and confirm.
When changing from standby to a non-password protected mode level you are asked
to enter the number "183". Follow the on
-screen instructions.
The selected mode level is active.
