30.9.3 E-mail configuration
To send e-mails, the device has to be configured appropriately, see page 418. Configura-
tion is usually handled by Bizerba Service.
The configuration table contains the following entries:
"Protocol": – "SMTP": E-mail function is activated with SMTP protocol.
Further entries are required in the following four table rows.
– "off": E-mail function is deactivated. The following four ta-
ble rows are blocked against input.
"Own email address": Enter your own e-mail address.
"Post-out server
(SMTP)":
Enter the IP address of the post output server (ask system ad-
ministrator).
"SMTP Port": Enter the SMTP port address (ask system administrator).
"Authentication": As the device only sends e-mails, but cannot receive any, the
post input server (POP3) is only for authentication. If e-mails
cannot be sent via SMTP, an attempt is made to authenticate
the procedure by POP3. Next, the device tries again to send the
e-mail by SMTP. The following settings are possible:
– "no": no authentication by POP3. The following four table
rows are blocked against input.
– "POP3/SMTP-Plain": Authentication by POP3 is activated.
Further entries are required in the following four table rows.
"Post-in server (POP3)": Enter IP address of post input server (ask system administra-
tor).
"POP3 Port": Enter POP3 port address (ask system administrator).
"User name": Only in the event of an external provider: Enter e-mail address
of external provider.
"Password": Only in the event of an external provider: Enter password for
sending e-mails.
