4 Equipment description
4.1 Automatic labeler
The automatic labeler weighs and labels pre-packed goods of any type. Infeed belts trans-
port the packages to be labeled to the respective labeler
. A light barrier at the conveying
unit identifies the packages.
The packages can be singled between the infeed and the singling belt. During transport
the packages are weighed on the weighinng belt with integrated scale and are then la-
beled with one or several labels above or under the labeling belt.
The integrated trend regulation automatically regulates the customer-side control system
subject to the calculated average values.
4.2 Labeling systems
The device can be expanded with the following labeling systems:
4.2.1 Air-jet labeler
If the labeler is equipped with an air-jet labeler, the label can be applied fully automatically
on the upper side of the package or with one labeler to the bottom of the package
. The
printed label is conveyed to the suction plate of the air-jet labeler and held there by a vac-
uum. When the pack to be labeled is located beneath the blast head, the label is blown
onto the pack by a powerful air jet.
4.2.2 Rotary arm labeler
If the labeler is equipped with a rotary arm labeler, the label can be applied to the top of
the package or the front or side surface of the package
. Problem-free application of the
label to round or uneven packages is also possible, thanks to the flexible labeler arm. The
printed label is transported to the suction surface of the labeler arm, sucked in and, after a
360 C rotation of the labeler arm, affixed to the package.
The vacuum required for holding the label at the suction plate, is provided by an installed
vacuum pump on the frame.
4.2.3 Piston labeler
The printed label is removed from the backing paper and is conveyed under the labeling
piston and held there by a vacuum
. A stroke cylinder moves the labeling piston to the
package. If necessary the labeling piston turns to apply the label in rotated position. After
labeling, the labeling piston returns to its starting position.
