30.6.2 Specify the connection parameters
In the connection parameter table, you determine via which physical interface (bus type)
data is sent to which device via a particular channel. Depending on the bus type you se-
lect, further specifications might be necessary. For each channel, enter first the device ID
and then the bus type.
In mode level T, softkeys can be defined for an EDP system. Pressing a key, or entering
input is then not processed by the device but sent to the EDP system. You establish the
connection for this setup via the connection parameter table as well.
For the channels A to G and for mode level T, the connection parameter table contains the
following data:
"Device ID": Device ID of connected device, e.g. 1 for EDP system. The de-
vice ID corresponds to the system bus address.
"Bus type": Select the type of bus via which the device is connected. The
following settings are possible:
"Inactive": Channel is not active.
"Standard system bus"
"PC system bus": For GxControl applications.
"AEDP": For an EDP connection. The EDP system always
has system bus address 1.
"Storage medium": Set this if you want to use a storage
medium to buffer system processes.
"TCP/IP": For an Ethernet connection (TCP/IP). Further
specifications are required in the columns, "Port No.",
"Synchronization" and "Conversion".
"USB": For the device that is connected with the channel
via a USB connection.
"Bus address": System bus number of the device (for AEDP this is always 1).
"Connect hdl": Cannot be input. Value is set by the device when the connec-
tion is established.
"IP address": Only for TCP/IP. IP address of the connected device.
"Port No.": Only for TCP/IP. Port number of the connected device. The port
number can be used as an access number for a specific serv-
ice. For connections to Bizerba labeling systems, the port num-
ber 1045 is preset.
"Socket": Cannot be input. Value is set by the device when the connec-
tion is established.
