19.3.7 Error messages concerning code structure
Error messages in the code editor
Error message Cause and rectification
"Invalid data in code struc-
ture."
Appears when an existing code structure rule is selected
for a different code type, for which at least one code con-
tent is not allowed.
Correct code structure rule.
"Variable too long for code" A variable requires more digits than are designated by the
code structure rule.
"Value invalid:Variable" An unauthorized value is set for a variable. The error can
come from a change to a different variable
.
Example: In a set module width of 3 dot/module, you have
converted the ratio from 1:2 to 1:2.5. In this ratio, however,
only even module widths are permitted.
"Value invalid: Variable was
customized"
Adjustments of code settings.
Example: If the code type, Code2/5 interleaved is
changed to Code39
, the ratio changes automatically from
1:2,5 to 1:2.
"Format invalid" The selected code format is invalid due to other settings.
"Contents invalid" The selected code content is invalid due to other settings.
"Constant invalid" The content of the constants has too many characters.
"Code structure invalid" Invalid code structure.
Example: The code structure contains a middle check digit
for the EAN13 code. The code type is changed to Code39
.
Additional error messages pertaining to code structure
Error message Cause and rectification
"Error in code structure!" You quit the code editor or call up a PLU.
An incorrect code structure rule was created in the code
editor.
The called-up PLU contains a reference to a faulty code
structure rule.
"Error in code data" You call up a PLU or create a code with a code substring.
The code substring is not available at a sufficient length in
the PLU data.
