30.3.1 Allocate serial interface application
The following applications can be used for serial interfaces:
<Ser1: AEDP, GxNet>: Only for serial interface 1. Set this if you want to connect to a
higher-ranking EDP system (ASCII interface, GxNet protocol).
Additional settings are now required:
– You might need to adjust the interface parameters, see
page 402
– Set the channel for the EDP system, see page 409
– Select the data to be sent to the EDP system, see
page 412
<Ser2: Without EDP 2>,
<Ser3: Without>:
Only for serial interfaces 2 and 3. Set this if the serial interface
is not available or not used. Standard setting.
<Ser1: Listprinter>: Set this if you want to connect to a list printer. License
"LINE_PRINTER" is available. Next, set the list printer parame-
ters, see page 403. <Ser2: Listprinter>, <Ser3: Listprinter> the
same.
<Ser1: Scanner>: Set this if you want to connect to a scanner (barcode reading
device). License "SCANNER" is available. Next, set the scanner
parameters, see page 403. <Ser2: Scanner>, <Ser3: Scanner>
the same.
<Ser1: Metaldetector>: Set this if you want to connect to a metal detector.
<Ser2: Metaldetector>, <Ser3: Metaldetector> the same.
<Ser1: Send from formu-
la>:
Set this if a predetermined formula has to be sent to the inter-
face. Next, set the related interface parameters, see page 403.
<Ser2: Send from formula>, <Ser3: Send from formula> the
same.
Example: Serial interface 1. The procedure for serial interfaces 2 and 3 is the same.
