29.2 Operating mode
29.2.1 Activate or deactivate reverse mode
When using an EcoMotion printer, this function cannot be applied, as it
isn't needed.
With this function, you can switch reverse mode for the current labeling job on or off. In
reverse mode, the label is retracted by about 10 mm in order to be printed from the begin-
ning again
. This is required in the following cases:
in Linerless labels
to print variable data on the first 10 mm of a label
to print the first 10 mm of a label that is rotated by 180 degrees on the label roll
The following settings are possible:
"W/o": Reverse mode is switched off. Standard setting.
"With": Reverse mode is switched on.
You usually enter this setting in the label parameter table, see page 201. When a PLU is
changed reverse mode is automatically switched on or off depending on the setting in the
label parameter table.
Mode level: 1 or 2
Switch on/off reverse mode for the current labeling job
Mode level 1: <Etc> / <Labels> / <Printer menu> / <Retract operation>
or
Mode level 2: <Labels> / <Printer menu> / <Retract operation>

29.2.2 Choose thermal direct printing or thermal transfer printing
If the device is equipped with a thermal transfer printing extension, you can choose be-
tween thermal direct and thermal transfer operating modes
. The following settings are pos-
sible:
"Dir.": Thermal direct printing for thermal labelers. Standard setting.
"Trsf.": Thermal transfer printing when you are using thermal transfer
film.
Mode level: 1 or 2
Mode level 1: <Etc> / <Labels> / <Printer menu> / <Print mode: thermal...>
or
Mode level 2: <Labels> / <Printer menu> / <Print mode: thermal...>
Tap the softkey until the required setting is highlighted.
