20.3 Distances and positions of the labeler
20.3.1 Entering the label distance
The label distance is the distance between the label stop edge at the printer mechanism
and the reference line of the package
. Depending on the setting, the reference line is the
leading edge, trailing edge, or centerline of the package, see page 257. Which edge is
considered the leading edge and which one the trailing edge depends on the transport di-
rection of the package. The illustration shows how dimensioning of the label distance de-
pends on the defined reference line and the transport direction of the package.
Illustration 57: Label distance depending on reference line and transport direction
Transport direction
Leading edge of the package
Center line of the package
Trailing edge of the package
A: label distance when the leading edge of the package is the reference line.
B: label distance when the center line of the package is the reference line
.
C: label distance when the trailing edge of the package is the reference line.
You may enter the label distance in the automatic labeler parameters, see page 250. You
may temporarily modify the label distance for the current labeling job.
