Middle check digit
The middle check digit can be selected in most code types
. Depending on the code struc-
ture, the middle check digit may only be set once. If a check digit has already been as-
signed by the code substring format, no further check digits can be inserted.
If the middle check digit is included in a code structure, the check digit is formed from the
variable to the right of it (code content 4 - 6 places).
Example of code structure with check digit
Code substr.1{7-digit} Middle CD{} Price{5 digits, 2 dec. places}
The middle check digit is formed in this example over the price on the right. It is printed in
the code and in the visible text line to the right of the price
.
313MODULO10-check digit
In Code128, Code39 and Code2/5 int. the code length is variable and can be set to almost
any length. By integrating the MODULO10 check digit into the variable code structure
, the
check digit is formed over all variables positioned to the left of the check digit, encoded
and printed in the visible text line. In the code structure, the check digit, 313MODULO10-
PZ can be integrated in several places.
Example of a code structure with 313MODULO10-check digit
Price{4 digits, 2
dec. places}
313MODULO10-PZ{} Weight {4 digits, 2
dec. places}
313MODULO10-PZ{}
