About WIA Scanning
WIA allows computers running Windows Vista (SP1 or later)/7, or Windows Server 2008/2008 R2 to
perform scanning over a network.
• To use this machine as a WIA scanner, you must first download the WIA driver from the supplier's
Web site and install it on your computer.
Network TWAIN also allows you to perform scanning through a network; however, TWAIN and WIA
do not provide the same scan functions.
The following table tells you the functions available or not available with TWAIN and WIA. For details
about TWAIN, see "Scanning Originals with the Network TWAIN Scanner".
