If installation is successful, the icon of this machine connected to the "USB001" port is added to the
[Printers] window.
• When a printer driver meeting this machine is found on a network, a message prompting insertion
of the CD-ROM is not displayed.

Windows 7, Windows Server 2008 R2 - USB
This section explains how to install the PostScript 3 printer driver under Windows 7 or Windows Server
2008 R2 for use over a USB interface.
• Manage Printers permission is required to install the driver. Log on as an Administrators group
member.
If the printer driver has already been installed, plug and play is enabled, and the icon of the machine
connected to the "USB" port is added to the [Devices and Printers] window.
The printer drivers can be installed from the CD-ROM provided with this machine.
If the printer driver is not installed, follow the plug-and-play instructions of the machine to install it from
the CD-ROM provided with this machine.
1. Connect the machine to the computer using the USB cable.
Connect the USB cable firmly.
2. Click [Devices and Printers] from the [Start] menu.
[Devices and Printers] window appears.
3. In [Unspecified], double-click the name of the machine whose driver you want to install.
4. Click the [Hardware] tab in the printer properties dialog box.
5. Select the name of the machine whose driver you want to install, and then click
[Properties].
6. Click [Change settings].
7. Click the [Driver] tab.
8. Insert the CD-ROM into the CD-ROM drive.
If the [AutoPlay] dialog box appears, click the [Close] button.
To disable Auto Run, press the left [Shift] key when inserting the CD-ROM into the drive and keep it
pressed until the computer finishes reading from the CD-ROM.
9. Click [Update Driver...].
