Making Option Settings for the Printer
Make option settings for the machine using the printer driver when bidirectional communication is
disabled.
Set up option settings when bidirectional communications are disabled.
• Manage Printers permission is required to change the printer properties. Log on as an
Administrators group member.
1. On the [Start] menu, click [Printers and Faxes].

When using Windows Vista or Windows Server 2008, click [Control Panel] on the [Start]
menu, and then click [Printer] in "Hardware and Sound".
• When using Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2, click the [Start] menu, and then click
[Devices and Printers].
2. Click the icon of the printer you want to use.
3. On the [File] menu, click [Properties].
• When using Windows Vista or Windows Server 2008, right-click the icon of the printer you
want to use, and then click [Properties].
• When using Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2, right-click the icon of the printer you
want to use, and then click [Printer properties].
4. Click the [Device Settings] tab.
5. Select options installed from the [Installable Options] area, and then make the necessary
settings.
6. Click [Apply], and then click [OK] to close the printer properties dialog box.
