Operating System and Application Problems
Verify Settings
1. Verify the settings on the Configuration page.
–TCP/IP v4: Enabled
– IP Address: xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
– Subnet Mask: 255.xxx.xxx.xxx
– Router/Gateway: xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
– Automatic Addressing: DHCP or Disabled
– DHCP Server: xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
– Self Assigned Address State: Enabled or Disabled
– Self Assigned Address: xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
– LPR/LPD: Enabled or Disabled
–Port Number: 515
2. Ping the printer (from a PC):
a. Open a Windows command prompt.
b. Type ‘ping printer IP’s’ address.
c. Verify that there is communication between the printer and the computer.
3. Verify that the client is logged on to the network and printing to the correct print queue. The user
should also have access to the printer queue.
