1.7.5.2.1 Intended Purpose
The PROFIBUS DP bus module is used as decentralized I/O module in PROFIBUS networks.
Depending on the used terminal unit the network connection is performed either via 9-pole
female D-SUB connector or via 10 terminals (screw-type or spring terminals) which are inte-
grated in the terminal unit.
The inputs/outputs are electrically isolated from the PROFIBUS network. There is no potential
separation between the channels. The configuration of the configurable digital inputs/outputs is
performed by software.
For usage in extreme ambient conditions (e.g. wider temperature and humidity range), a special
XC version of the device is available.
