DLP-A11 Remove the Backplane Sheet Metal Cover
Step 2 Grasp the cover on each side.
Step 3 Gently pull the cover away from the backplane.
Step 4 Return to your originating procedure (NTP).
DLP-A11 Remove the Backplane Sheet Metal Cover
Step 1 To remove the backplane sheet metal cover, loosen the five screws that secure it to the ONS 15454 and
pull it away from the shelf assembly.
Step 2 Loosen the nine perimeter screws that hold the backplane sheet metal cover(s) in place.
Step 3 Lift the panel by the bottom to remove it from the shelf assembly.
Step 4 Store the panel for later use. Attach the backplane cover(s) whenever EIA(s) are not installed.
Step 5 Return to your originating procedure (NTP).
Purpose This task removes the backplane sheet metal cover that is installed on the
backplane when electrical interface assemblies (EIAs) are not installed.
Tools/Equipment #2 Phillips screwdriver
Medium slot-head screwdriver
Small slot-head screwdriver
Prerequisite Procedures DLP-A10 Remove the Lower Backplane Cover, page 17-10
