MANUAL VERSION 11.0 – May 2008
Node IP Connection Groups
Average In Time Frame Percentage Threshold and Average In Time Frame Timer:
Indicate when network characteristics inhibit voice connections. When the average
number of In Time frames falls below the Average In Time Frame Percentage Thresh-
old, and the average number of In Time frames stays below that threshold for the time
given by the Average In Time Frame Timer (in seconds), the system displays a warning
about insufficient bandwidth (see page 5-167). Use the scroll box to make your selec-
tion. Then press
ENTER or click on another field to save your change. The default for
Average In Time Frame Percentage Threshold is 60%, and the range is 0 to 100. The
default for Average In Time Frame Timer is 5 seconds, and the range is 0 to 255.
DTMF Encoding Setting: Defines the vocoder that the system uses when the system
believes it is transmitting DTMF digits. Use the drop-down box to make your selection.
Then press
ENTER or click on another field to save your change. The options are G.711
Mu-Law, G.711 A-Law, G.729, and RFC 2833. The default is G.711 Mu-Law [or A-Law
for Europe].
Fax Detection Sensitivity: Allows you to make false fax detection more or less likely.
The higher this number, the less likely the system is to falsely detect fax transmission,
but the more likely the system is to fail to correctly detect fax transmission. The lower
the number, the more likely the system is to falsely detect fax transmission, but the less
likely the system is to fail to correctly detect fax transmission. Use the scroll box to
make your selection. Then press
ENTER or click on another field to save your change.
The range is 0 to 100. By default, this is 0, indicating that faxing is disabled.
Fax Encoding Setting (Fax Detection): Defines the vocoder the system uses to tell the
other end of a fax transmission that it has detected fax. Use the drop-down box to make
your selection. Then press
ENTER or click on another field to save your change. The
options are G.711 Mu-Law, G.711 A-Law, and RFC 2833. By default, this is RFC 2833.
NOTE: If a red “X” appears in this field, you must change the Fax Detection Sensitivity
field to any value other than 0.

appears. If you click OK when this message is displayed and continue to program the
fax settings, you do so at your own risk.
