MANUAL VERSION 11.0 – May 2008
System Maintenance
8. SYSTEM MAINTENANCE
8.1 Use the Maintenance programming area to set the following parameters:
• Call Cost (see below)
• Freeze Zones (see page 6-270)
• Major Reset Scheduling (see page 6-271)
• Message Print (see page 6-274)
• SMDR (see page 6-276)
8.2 Each of these is discussed individually in the following pages.
8.3 In systems running v9.0 and later, when DB Studio is operating in OLM mode, you can
clear the following Call Processing Logs on a CPC:
• History Queue
• Message Print Log
• Network Diagnostics Log
• Reset Log
• Software Performance Statistics Log
8.4 To clear a log, in OLM, under System\Maintenance\History Queue, right-click in the
screen and select the log you want to clear.
NOTE: Do not use OLM mode unless you are instructed to do so by support personnel.
A. CALL COST
8.5 When you select Call Cost the current daytime rates and multiplication factors are dis-
played. To change a rate, select its current Value and enter the new value in the text box. Then
press
ENTER or select another field to save the change.
8.6 To prepare to program call cost:
1. Determine the daytime rates, in dollars [pounds in Europe] per minute, for the follow-
ing types of calls (all default values are 0.00). Use several telephone bills from months
with typical usage to calculate the average cost per minute of each type of call. Record
the charges in dollars (pounds) and cents (pence) from 00.00 to 99.99. You may need to
adjust the calculations later to more accurately estimate actual call costs. (This program
is to be used as an estimate only; see page 5-305 in FEATURES for details.)
For U.S. Systems:
— Local calls
— Toll – local calls
— Toll – long distance calls
— Operator-assisted calls
— International calls
— Incoming calls
— Free calls
— Network calls
