Outgoing Access
Outgoing Access
9.12 The next three fields control the outgoing access for calls placed by AMIS.
9.13 Outgoing Access: This is the outgoing trunk access code that the Voice Processor will
use to place the outgoing AMIS call. This field defaults to ARS (92000). To determine the out-
going access trunk group, use one of the following methods:
Method A
1. Select the current Value and enter the new value in the text box.
2. Press ENTER. A screen appears showing you what is associated with the number you
entered.
3. Select OK. The new number appears in the field.
Method B
1. Right-click on the existing value. An option box appears.
2. Select Change Outgoing Access. A window appears that asks you to select the type of
device to include.
3. Select CO Trunk Group and then select Next. The list of trunk groups appears. (You
can view them in a list by selecting the List button or view details by selecting the
Details button.)
4. Highlight the appropriate trunk group and then select Finish. Your selection appears in
the Outgoing Access field.
9.14 Outgoing Access Prefix: This is the digit dialed by the Voice Processor before the out-
going access code, if needed. This field can include up to 18 characters. Valid characters
include digits 0-9, * and #, and P for pause. This field is blank by default. To enter the prefix
click on the Value and enter the address in the text box. Then press
ENTER or click on another
field to save your change.
NOTE: For AMIS networking purposes, the first digit of the Outgoing Access Prefix should
always be a pause.
9.15 Outgoing Access Termination: This is the digit dialed by the Voice Processor to termi-
nate the outgoing access code, if needed. This field can include up to 18 characters. Valid char-
acters include digits 0-9, * and #, and “P” for pause. This field defaults to #. To enter the
termination digit click on the Value and enter the address in the text box. Then press
ENTER or
click on another field to save your change.
Network Calls
9.16 Accept Network Calls: The Accept Network Calls flag must be enabled to allow the
Call Routing Application to process AMIS calls. If it is not, incoming AMIS calls will time-
out. To enable the flag, select its check box to place a check mark in it to change the setting to
Yes. Then press ENTER or click on another field to save your change. To set it back to No,
select the check box again.
9.17 Accept Unknown Network Calls: If the Accept Unknown Network Calls flag is
enabled, the local Voice Processor can accept AMIS calls from any voice mail system that sup-
ports AMIS networking. If this flag is disabled, the local Voice Processor can only accept net-
work calls from Voice Processor nodes that are programmed in its database. To enable the flag,
select its check box to place a check mark in it and change the setting to
Yes. Then press
ENTER or click on another field to save your change. To set it back to No, select the check box
again.
