BRI Card Configuration
BRI Card Configuration
3.107 To program an individual card, select System\Cabinets then double-click on the card (or
right-click and select Explore Card).
NOTE: DB Programming will not allow the system to equip BRI cards unless the Premium
Feature for “Advanced CO Interfaces” is licensed.
3.108 The BRI cards are shown in the list. BRS Cards are represented as “Basic Rate Inter-
face - S/T” and BRU Cards are represented as “Basic Rate Interface - U.”
3.109 To equip a single circuit: To select the port type for a specific circuit, select the current
Port description and use the drop-down list box to scroll to the new port type. Then press
ENTER or click on another field to save the change.
3.110 To equip several circuits at once: Highlight the ports you want to equip. (To highlight
a series of items, hold down
SHIFT while selecting the first and last item. To highlight two or
more that are not consecutive, hold down
CTRL while selecting the desired items.) Then right-
click and select the Batch Change Type option.
3.111 To program a port on one of the BRI cards, double-click on that card and then on Ports
to display its programming fields. Card programming includes the following fields:
• Port: Most fields may be programmed for both station and trunk ports. In DB Program-
ming, choose System\Cabinets\the card’s folder\Ports to access the programmable
fields. For fields that apply specifically to either station or trunk ports only, that infor-
mation is noted. See for more details.
• Make Busy: This option can be used to busy-out all of the circuits. When it is enabled,
the card is busied out, just as it would be if the busy-out switch on the card was used.
To change this option, right-click on the current Value and then select Enable Make
Busy. To turn off the Make busy, right-click again and select Disable Make Busy.
