Mailbox Programming
PROGRAMMING
6
4.88 The only field that is different from local mailbox programming is Remote Mailbox
Extension. This field contains the actual mailbox number of the mailbox on the remote node. If
there is a universal numbering plan among all the networked voice mail nodes, the Remote
Mailbox Number field will be the same as the local mailbox number. If the numbering plan is
not universal, the Remote Mailbox Number field can be different than the local mailbox num-
ber. The mailbox numbers programmed in this field are not verified because the local Voice
Processing Unit does not know about the mailbox numbers on the remote Voice Processing
Unit until it actually attempts to deliver a message to the remote Voice Processing Unit. The
default value for this field is the local mailbox number. This field can be changed to any num-
ber up to five digits. The remote mailbox field is not validated and it should not be pro-
grammed a part of a group list or network mailbox on the remote node.
4.89 A network mailbox should have the Unlisted Number and Private Mailbox Number
flags enabled. The Unlisted Number flag keeps the network mailbox from appearing in the
company directory, and the Private Mailbox Number flag prevents the caller from hearing the
mailbox number while using the company directory. These two fields can be programmed only
from DB Programming.

button.)
4. Highlight the devices for which you want to create mailboxes. Then select Add Items.
Your selections appear in the mailbox list. Select
