4. IP NETWORKING USING THE IPRC
4.1 As of v7.0, an Internet Protocol Resource Card (IPRC) can be programmed to provide
private networking using an IP network.
NOTE: When using the networking feature in systems running software version 7.0 and later,
to avoid one-way audio, do not use two IPRCs on separate networks.
A. HARDWARE INSTALLATION
4.2 To install a network, you will need the following:
• IP Networking Software License: Each node in the network must have a software
license that supports the networking premium feature.
NOTE: Nodes that are running version 7.0 or earlier require a specific networking
PAL. See Replacement Parts for a complete list of software PALs.
• IPRC and IPRC-D Cards: The IPRC provides up to 16 ports, and the IPRC-D pro-
vides up to an additional 16 ports (32 ports total). For v1.x firmware IPRCs, the number
of available ports depends on the PAL installed, as listed in the following table.
For v8.x and later firmware IPRCs, the number of available ports depends on the soft-
ware license, as listed in the following table.
An IPRC requires 0.34 amps and an IPRC-D requires an additional 0.14 amps (0.48
amps total). See page 3-155 for details on the IPRC-D.
