MANUAL VERSION 11.0 – May 2008
Enterprise Messaging Enhancements
15. ENTERPRISE MESSAGING ENHANCEMENTS
The following section describes new features that are to be introduced in EM v2.1. These new
features require a v11.0 or later system:
• Option Swap: 7 and 9 Keys (see below)
• VPIM Networking (see page 4-71)
A. OPTION SWAP: 7 AND 9 KEYS
15.1 EM provides a swap feature whereby the 7 and 9 digit operations in Message Options
can be reversed. By default, the 7 digit is used for SAVE and the 9 digit is used for DELETE.
The swap feature allows the 7 digit to be used for DELETE and the 9 digit to be used for
SAVE, just like the functionality operated by the cell phone voice mail systems.
15.2 This helps users who are familiar with a cell phone functionality from accidentally
deleting messages by pressing 9, intending to save messages. This feature can be programmed
for individual mailboxes by the subscribers (see below) or for all mailboxes in DB Program-
ming (see page 6-347).
15.3 To use the 7 and 9 key swap feature at the endpoint display:
1. On the endpoint display, locate the these changes in the Additional Options menu
under the
Personal Options – More selection.
2. Do either of the following:
• Select
Save Del to display the current settings.
• Select
Save Del again to toggle the settings for the 7 and 9 digits. When you tog-
gle the settings, the display shows the new settings for a few seconds before
returning to the previous menu.
15.4 The new voice prompts 947 through 953 have been added for this feature (see page 4-
98).
