Internet Protocol Resources Card
NOTE: Prior to v9.0, the 8.x firmware IPRC could be used for private networking or for IP
devices, as determined by the configuration chosen in DB Studio. The v9.0 and later firmware
IPRC supports both private networking and IP devices on the same card.
3.131 Version 9.0 or later system software introduces an improved IPRC that supports both IP
devices and private networking. When version 8.1.x or later IPRC firmware is used with a v9.0
or later Axxess system, the IPRC allows an Axxess system to share IP endpoint and IP net-
working capabilities on the same IPRC. The physical components of the IPRC did not change
for v9.0.0, however, because the v9.0.0 IPRC supports both IP devices and networking, the
associated programming fields for the 32-device IPRC and the networking IPRC are combined
for the v9.0.0 IPRC.
3.132 For more information about the v9.0.0 IPRC, see page 3-147. For troubleshooting infor-
mation, see page 7-59.
NOTE: When using the networking feature in systems running software version 7.0 and later,
to avoid one-way audio, do not use two IPRCs on separate networks.
3.133 Converting a pre-9.0.0 IPRC to a v9.0.0 IPRC: Part of the upgrade process from pre-
9.0 system software to v9.0 or later is converting the database with DB Converter (see page 6-
29). During the conversion process all existing IPRCs (Networking and 32-Device) are con-
verted to the v9.0.0 IPRC configuration. When these cards have been converted, VoIP
resources programmed on an IPRC Networking are converted to networking VoIP resources
and VoIP resources programmed on an IPRC 32-Device are converted to endpoint VoIP
resources.
NOTE: DB Converter provides a Help option with instructions for converting a database.
3.134 Equipping the v9.0.0 IPRC: To equip an IPRC, select Internet Protocol Resource
Card
as the card type for the corresponding card slot in the Systems/Cabinets folder as shown
below.
