MANUAL VERSION 11.0 – May 2008
Internet Protocol Resources Card
3.135 When you equip a v9.0.0 IPRC, DB Studio automatically equips an IP connection cor-
responding to the IP port on the IPRC. You are prompted to enter an extension for the IP con-
nection, and you must enter a non-dialable extension beginning with “P6.”
NOTE: Inter-Tel strongly advises installers to create a universal numbering plan that includes
IP connections for forward compatibility. One such plan is to use the convention of “PSnnc”
where P is the pause digit, S is the number 6 or 7, nn is the node number, and c is a number
between 0-9 identifying the specific IPRC to which the IP connection corresponds.
3.136 Programming the IPRC Fields: The v9.0.0 IPRC programming folders and fields are
a combination of the networking IPRC and the 32-device IPRC fields used prior to v9.0.0. The
following sections describe the folders and fields for the v9.0.0 IPRC.
Voice Resources
3.137 The Voice Resources field provides a link to the voice channels available for use by the
IPRC. Double-click on Voice Resources to display the list of channels. Then enable the chan-
nels as described below. By default, all channels are set to Out of Service (disabled). Options
for this field include:
• Out of Service
• Networking
• IP Endpoint
3.138 Any channels that are enabled are considered “devices” and affect the maximum num-
ber of devices the system supports. For example, if the system currently supports 512 devices
and you program 32 voice resource channels, the remaining number of devices available is 480
(512 - 32). By default, this field is set to Out of Service.
NOTE: The maximum number of channels is 32. In remote mode, DB Programming displays
all 32 channels (a red “X” indicates that the channel is offline).
ALSO: To use a v9.0.0 IPRC for private networking, at least one of the VoIP resources must be
programmed for networking.
3.139 To enable a single channel: Select the current Value for the channel and use the drop-
down list box to select Networking or IP Endpoint. Then press
ENTER or click on another field
to save the change.
3.140 To enable several channels at once: Highlight the channels you want to enable. (To
highlight a series of items, hold down
SHIFT while selecting the first and last item. To high-
light two or more that are not consecutive, hold down
CTRL while selecting the desired items.)
Then right-click and select the Batch Change Voice Resources option. Select the value you
want assigned to the channels and click
OK.
