Power Supply Unit – 9 Amp
SPECIFICATIONS
2
Power Supply Unit – 9 Amp
NOTE: The first (master) and third (slave) chassis in all tri-chassis and quad-chassis installa-
tions must be equipped with 9 amp power supplies. The PCM-F card requires a 9 amp power
supply.
4.46 The 9-amp system power supply unit – part no. 550.0131 [PS2735 in Europe] is
installed in the far left slot in the new-style equipment chassis. (See page 2-15 for information
on the new chassis design.)
NOTE: The part number for the 9 amp power supply unit was changed from 550.0110 to
550.0131. There is no functional difference between the old power supply unit and the new unit
except the inrush current on the 550.0131 is higher then the 550.0110; however, both power
supplies have the same maximum input amperage.
4.47 Located on the front side of the power supply unit are the AC power cable connector,
the ON/OFF power switch, three LED voltage indicators, and four voltage test points. During
normal system operation, all three LEDs (+5V, -5V, and +24V) should be lit. If any of the
LEDs are blinking or are unlit, the power supply is defective and the entire unit must be
replaced.
NOTE: With the new-style equipment chassis, the grounding lug is no longer located on the
front of the power supply unit. It is located on the left, inside wall of the chassis.
4.48 Each power supply unit has one, 250V, 8
amp fuse. (This fuse may not be replaced in the
field. If the fuse is blown, return the entire power
supply unit for repair.)
4.49 With the 9 amp power supply unit, there is no power limit as to how many DKSC-16s
can be installed in the equipment chassis.
Power Calculator
4.50 The following table can be used to calculate power requirements. This chart is for the
input wattages for calculating UPS backup time.
Each unit's maximum power outputs are:
+24VDC, 9A
-5VDC, 1.5A
+5VDC, 7A
