Equipment Chassis Redesigned
4.8 The original equipment chassis, backplane, and power supply unit were redesigned. The
new-style equipment chassis has an extra cardfile slot that allows one of the new-style power
supply units to be attached directly to the backplane. (With the original chassis, the power sup-
ply unit was installed on top and was connected to the backplane through an interface cable.)
As a result of the redesign, the new-style chassis is shorter and wider than the original chassis.
NOTE: European systems do not support the original power supply unit.
