Voice Processing TCP/IP Network Setup
6. Using a #2 Phillips screwdriver, remove the four screws securing the power supply unit
to the rear of the Voice Processing PC chassis.
7. Slide the power supply unit an inch toward the front of the Voice Processing PC and lift
the unit out.
8. Lower the new unit onto the power supply shelf in the Voice Processing PC and slide it
back into place.
9. Replace the four screws removed in step 7 (or, if desired, use the four new screws that
may have been included in this kit).
10. Verify that the 115V/230V selection switch on the power supply unit is set to the 115V
setting.
11. Using the old power supply unit as a guide, route and reconnect all of the required
cables and wires to their proper connectors in the Voice Processing PC.
12. Reconnect the AC power cable to the rear of the Voice Processing PC.
13. Ensure that the AC power source is properly grounded by performing one of the follow-
ing tests:
Use a digital multimeter to measure the difference of potential between the Voice
Processing PC chassis and the power neutral, and between the Voice Processing
PC chassis and the third wire ground. If the voltage measurement exceeds 0.5V,
noise may develop on the system. If this occurs, call an electrician.
Use a Megger to test the AC ground wire. (A Megger should be available through
the local power company.) The reading should be 5 ohms or less.
14. Turn OFF the AC POWER switch.
15. Re-attach all cables to the back of the Voice Processing PC.
16. Slide the Voice Processing PC cover back into place, replace the screws, and turn the
system AC POWER switch back ON.
17. To receive proper credit for the advance replacement, return the defective power supply
unit to Inter-Tel.
16. VOICE PROCESSING TCP/IP NETWORK SETUP
16.1 The following steps describe the setup for TCP/IP networking on Voice Processing PCs.
A. SERVER REQUIREMENTS
16.2 The TCP/IP server requires the following:
An IP address for the server
A modem with speed greater than or equal to 28,800 connected to a serial port and set
up for auto-answer
A range of two or more IP addresses (e.g., 110.230.39.40 to 110.230.39.42 defines three
IP addresses)
