4.41 The 4-amp power supply can support one EVMC, which draws power from the 5VDC
output.
Power Supply Unit – 6 Amp
NOTE: European systems do not support the 6-amp power supply unit.
4.42 The 6 amp system power supply unit (part no. 550.0104) is installed in the far left slot
in the new-style chassis. (See page 2-15 for information on the new chassis design.)
4.43 Located on the front side of the power supply unit are the AC power cable connector,
the ON/OFF power switch, three LED voltage indicators, and four voltage test points. During
normal system operation, all three LEDs (+5V, -5V, and +24V) should be lit. If any of the
LEDs are blinking or are unlit, the power supply is defective and the entire unit must be
replaced.
NOTE: With the new-style equipment chassis, the grounding lug is no longer located on the
front of the power supply unit. It is located on the left, inside wall of the chassis.
4.44 Each power supply unit has one, 250V, 4 amp fuse. (This fuse may not be replaced in
the field. If the fuse is blown, return the entire power supply unit for repair.) Each unit’s maxi-
mum power outputs are +24VDC, 6A; +5VDC, 3A; and -5VDC, 1.5A.
4.45 With some limitation, the 16-Port Digital Keyset Cards (DKSC-16s) can be installed in
chassis equipped with this 6 amp power supply. Depending on the number and variety of other
circuit cards to be installed, up to two of the cards can be DKSC-16s (or up to four in dual-
chassis systems, and so on). If necessary, use the chart above to determine how many DKSC-
16s can be installed using the 6 amp power supply.
NOTE: The 6 amp power supply cannot be used with an EVMC because this power supply
does not provide enough amperage on the +5 VDC buss to power the card. The EVMC requires
2.5 to 3 Amps from the 5 volt buss in order to run. To use an EVMC voice mail card the system
must have either a 4 amp or 9 amp power supply. Note that the 4 amp power supply is only for
the Axxess or Eclipse
