Auto Attendant Information
PROGRAMMING
6
NOTE: If the voice mail mailbox directory is disabled, callers using the voice mail sys-
tem will not receive a system prompt giving the option to search the directory for the
person to whom they want to speak. If the dial pad button normally associated with
access to the mailbox directory is selected, the caller will be informed that the selection
is invalid.
Directory Sort Order: This option is only for Voice Mail calls. Select Directory Sort
Order
and scroll to the desired option (last name or first name) to determine the direc-
tory sorting order. Then press
ENTER or click outside the field to save your change.
This parameter also defines which system voice prompt will play when directing callers
to spell a first or last name.
D. AUTO ATTENDANT INFORMATION
3.14 You can enable or disable the automated attendant directory and determine whether the
directory is sorted by first or last name using these fields. You can also determine whether the
system automated attendant transfer prompt will play when calls are transferred to stations
without mailboxes or extension IDs.
Enable Auto Attendant Directory: If this flag is enabled, the system allows anyone
routed to an Auto Attendant application to access the company directory. If the flag is
disabled, the Auto Attendant will not prompt the caller for the directory option while in
the Auto Attendant area. To enable the directory, select the value and place a check
mark in the box. Then press
ENTER or click outside the field to save your change. To
disable the directory, select it again to remove the check mark.
Auto Attendant Transfer Prompt: Determines if the transfer prompt (“Please hold
while your call is being transferred to...”) plays after a caller has entered an extension
number that does not have an associated mailbox or extension ID. This applies to trans-
fers from Call Routing Announcement applications that use the “Transfer To Exten-
sion” action (as described on page 6-361). To disable the prompt, select the value and
click on the check box to remove the check mark. Then press
ENTER or click outside
the field to save your change. To enable the prompt, select the box again to replace the
check mark.
Directory Sort Order (Last Name or First Name): This option is only for Auto
Attendant calls. To determine whether the mailbox and extension ID descriptions in the
directory will be sorted by first name or last name, select the drop-down list and scroll
to the desired option. Then press
ENTER or click outside the field to save your change.
Transfer Method (Unannounced, Announced-Only, or Screened): Determines how
transfers will be made to other applications from Call Routing Announcement applica-
tions. The options are Announce Only, Screened, and Unannounced (defaults to Unan-
nounced). See page 5-211 for a definition of these terms. Select the drop-down list and
scroll to the desired transfer method. Then press
ENTER or click outside the field to
save your change.
