Programming Dial Rules
9.63 To program ARS dial rules, select Dial Rules from the Numbering Plan programming
area. When you double-click on
Dial Rules, the list of rules 1-32 appears. Rules 7-32 are pro-
grammable to allow you to add digits to a dialed number. To enter the digits for a dial rule,
select its current Value and enter the new value in the text box. Then press
ENTER or select
another field to save the change.
NOTE: You cannot edit the dial rule description (Dial Rule field).
9.64 Dial rules can contain any digit (0-9, *, #) and/or hookflashes/recalls and pauses.
Programming Facility Groups
9.65 To program ARS facility groups, select Facility Groups from the Numbering Plan pro-
gramming area. When you double-click on
Facility Groups, the current list of facility groups
displays. At this level you can change the description of the facility group by selecting its cur-
rent description and then entering the new information in the text box.
9.66 Each facility group has a list of trunk groups and/or node trunk groups that will be used
for routing calls. For example, the “Local” facility group would contain trunk groups that
include local trunks, but the “Branch” facility group might have node trunks groups that
include local trunks on a node in another city.
9.67 All facility groups are programmable. The default values of the pre-programmed facil-
ity groups are as follows.
• Local: This group uses Trunk Group 1 and Dial Rules 3 and 4.
• Toll Local: This facility group uses Trunk Group 1 and Dial Rules 2 and 4.
• Toll Long Distance: This facility group uses Trunk Group 1 and Dial Rules 1, 2, 3, and
4.
• Operator: This facility group uses Trunk Group 1 and Dial Rules 1, 2, 3, and 4.
• International Station: This facility group uses Trunk Group 1 and Dial Rules 1, 2, 3, 4,
and 7.
• International Operator: This facility group uses Trunk Group 1 and Dial Rules 1, 2, 3,
4, and 7.
9.68 Then press
ENTER or select another field to save the change.
9.69 To create a facility group: Right-click in any open area in the right side of the screen.
Select
Create Facility Group. The new facility group appears in the list and can be pro-
grammed as described below.
9.70 To delete a facility group: Highlight it and right-click. Then select
Delete.
9.71 If you double-click on a facility group, you will see the Dial Rules and Trunk Groups/
Nodes options.
9.72 Dial Rules: To assign the dial rules that will be used by this facility group, double-click
on Dial Rules. The current list of dial rules, if any, appears. You can then do the following:
9.73 To add dial rules to the facility group: Note that this is an ordered list. Place the dial
rules in the list in the order you want them to be used.
9.74 To add to the bottom of the list: Do not highlight any existing dial rules and right-
click anywhere in the right side of the window. An option box appears.
