5. Highlight the trunk group(s) and/or node(s) you want to add and then select Add Items.
(Note that if you select more than one, they will be placed in the list in numerical order,
not in the order you select them. To keep the list in the proper order, you may have to
add one at a time.) When you have added all the trunk groups and nodes you need,
select
Finish. Your selections appear in the list.
NOTE: If you want to see the programming for a specific trunk group or node, double-
click on its number to jump to its programming area.
9.80 To move a trunk group or node to another location in the list: Drag and drop the
trunk group or node to the new position. Or, highlight the trunk group to move and press
CTRL
+ the up/down arrow to move the trunk group up or down in the list.
9.81 To delete a trunk group or node from the list: To delete entries from the list, high-
light them and then right-click. Select
Remove Selected Items.
9.82 Also ensure the stations that will be using ARS have outgoing access for the trunk
groups and nodes (see page 6-228 for trunk group programming and page 6-243 for node trunk
group programming).
Programming Route Groups
9.83 To program ARS route groups, select Route Groups from the Numbering Plan program-
ming area. When you double-click on
Route Groups, the current list of route groups displays.
At this level you can change the description of the route group by selecting its current descrip-
tion and then entering the new information in the text box. Then press
ENTER or select another
field to save the change.
9.84 To create a route group: (This can be done only if there are fewer than 32 route
groups) Right-click in any open area in the right side of the screen. Select
Create Route
Group
. The new route group appears at the end of the list and can be programmed as described
below. Then enter the description as described above.
9.85 To move a route group to another location in the list: The route groups are in an
ordered list and the Order column shows you the number associated with each route group.
You can drag and drop a route group to a new position, if necessary. Or, you can highlight the
route group to move and press
CTRL + the up/down arrow to move the route group up or down
in the list.
9.86 To delete a route group: Highlight it and right-click. Then select
Delete.
9.87 If you double-click on a route group, you will see the following programming options:

9.88 Dial Patterns: The dialing patterns tell the system which route group to select. When
checking the route group, the system will look at the first dial pattern. If it does not match, the
system will continue checking the other patterns in the route group’s list. If a match is found,
the route group is selected. If not, the next route group is checked. To assign the dial patterns
that will be used by this route group, double-click on
Dial Patterns. The current list of dial pat-
terns, if any, appears. You can then do the following:
