MANUAL VERSION 11.0 – May 2008
Computer Telephony Integration (CTI)
D. COMPUTER TELEPHONY INTEGRATION (CTI)
5.5 The Axxess system is capable of connecting with Computer Telephony Integration
(CTI) applications, such System OAI (Open Architecture Interface, Contact Center Suite, etc.
E. ENTERPRISE CONFERENCING
5.6 Enterprise Conferencing runs on a stand-alone server to provide multiparty audio con-
ferences. It utilizes ITP, OAI, and RTP, to communicate with the Axxess system as multiple
Inter-Tel Protocol IP endpoints.
F. SYSTEM MANAGER
5.7 Inter-Tel System Manager is a server-based application that centralizes management
functions for the Axxess system along with various peripheral components, such as Unified
Communicator
®
, SIP Server, etc. For complete functionality, System Manager requires signifi-
cant connectivity to and from the managed devices. These requirements are outside the scope
of this appendix. They are described in the System Manager Installation and Maintenance
Manual (part no. 835.2743).
6. TOPOLOGY REQUIREMENTS
6.1 With regard to network topology discussed in this appendix, keep the following require-
ments in mind:
• An Axxess system has one CPC and optional IPRCs. In some configurations, a Call
Processing Server (CPS) may be used. For nearly all VoIP purposes (except SIP Gate-
way Trunks), the network interface on the CPC/CPS is not used for voice.
• Inter-Tel Private Networking cannot operate through a NAT device.
• The communication between SIP endpoints and a SIP server must not pass through
near-end NAT, unless it is performed by a SIP-aware firewall. The same requirement
exists for a firewall performing far-end NAT.
