MANUAL VERSION 11.0 – May 2008
Message Centers
F. MESSAGE CENTERS
10.34 A station can be designated as a message center and assigned a list of stations that it
will serve. When you select
Message Centers from the Station-Related Programming area,
you can view a list of the existing message centers.
10.35 If you double-click on a specific message center, you can view the list of stations it
serves.
10.36 To assign the stations served by the message center:
1. Right-click anywhere in the right side of the window. An option box appears.
2. Select Move To List. A window appears that asks you to select the type of device to
include.
3. Select the device type(s) and then select Next. A list appears. (You can view them in a
list by selecting the List button or view details by selecting the Details button.)
NOTE: To highlight a series of items, hold down SHIFT while selecting the first and last
items you want. To highlight two or more items that are not consecutive, hold down
CTRL while selecting the desired items.
4.
Highlight the appropriate items and then select Move Items. When you have added all
the devices select
Finish. Your selections appear in the list.
NOTE: If you want to see the programming for a specific item, double-click on its
extension number to jump to its programming area.
10.37 To delete a device from the list: Highlight the item(s) and then right-click. Select
Remove Selected Items.
10.38 You can also assign message centers in station programming by selecting the station’s
Associated Extensions and Message Center options and selecting the station that will serve as
the message center (see page 6-203).
G. MESSAGES
10.39 The system has default do-not-disturb and reminder messages in English/Spanish and
Katakana (Japanese) characters. However, the Katakana messages can be reprogrammed only
through an Administrators station (see page 5-283). If you change any of the primary lan-
guage messages through DB Programming, you should use an Administrator station to repro-
gram the corresponding secondary language messages to keep the meaning of each message
the same for both languages. That is, if the English message 02 is changed to “PAGE ME,” a
similar message should be programmed for secondary language message 02.
10.40 The default do-not-disturb messages are as follows:
DO-NOT-DISTURB MESSAGES:
01 DO-NOT-DISTURB 11 OUT OF TOWN 'TIL
02 LEAVE A MESSAGE 12 OUT OF OFFICE
03 IN MEETING UNTIL 13 OUT UNTIL
04 IN MEETING 14 WITH A CLIENT
05 ON VACATION/HOLIDAY 'TIL 15 WITH A GUEST
06 ON VACATION/HOLIDAY 16 UNAVAILABLE
07 CALL ME AT 17 IN CONFERENCE
08 AT THE DOCTOR 18 AWAY FROM DESK
09 ON A TRIP 19 GONE HOME
10 ON BREAK 20 OUT TO LUNCH
