C. LOG ON TO DB PROGRAMMING
8.13 With any CPC, there must be at least one reliable method to log on to the CPC. The
available connection methods (from fastest to slowest) are as follows:
• IP port
• RS-232 port
• Modem
AXXESS Version 8.002 Known Issues
8.14 There is a known issue with loading DB Programming v8.002 on a PC that has not had
8.000 previously loaded. If you install v8.002 without having installed v8.000, an incorrect
.dll is installed. This .dll prevents you from logging on to the database. If this occurs,
uninstall v8.002, install v8.000, and then re-install v8.002.
Modem Connection
8.15 If connecting via the CPC modem, be sure to set the
Minimum Bit Rate field (under
System\Devices and Feature Codes\Modems\<Modem>) to a low value (even less than 9600
bps may be necessary). The modem can always negotiate faster rates, but the CPC cannot con-
nect at a rate slower than this setting. Do NOT enable the
Force Minimum Bit Rate field
unless the connection is being made to a fixed-rate device.
8.16 By default, the modem port is set to the following values:
• Modem Enabled: Yes
• Minimum Bit Rate: 9600
• Force Minimum Bit Rate: No
D. DEFAULT THE CPC
NOTE: To default the CPC, the card must have boot code 2.1.0 or later.
8.17 This section details how to return the CPC to a “from factory” state. It is to be used as a
last resort when you are unable to access the CPC using the procedures described in the previ-
ous sections. Following this procedure will erase or return default settings to the following
areas:
• Back-up database
• Static database
• License
