Area Code Programming (U.S. Only)
Area Code Programming (U.S. Only)
9.41 Area code programming uses a drag and drop method to move the area codes from one
location to another. This ensures that each area code is include in a list and none are skipped.
NOTE: To highlight a series of items, hold down SHIFT while selecting the first and last items
you want. To highlight two or more items that are not consecutive, hold down CTRL while
selecting the desired items.
9.42 Allowed Area Codes: To allow users in the user group access to area codes, the codes
must be placed in the Allowed list. To place an area code in the Allowed list, double-click on
Extended or Restricted Area Codes and locate the area code you want to restrict. Then drag
and drop that area code to the Allowed Area Codes directory in the left portion of the window.
The next time you open Allowed Area Codes, you will see the code(s) you dropped into the
directory. To remove an area code from the Allowed list, move it to the Restricted or Extended
list in this User Group.
9.43 Extended Area Codes: There can be up to six extended area codes per user group, each
with an individual list of allowed and restricted office codes. To create an extended area code,
double-click on
Allowed or Restricted Area Codes and locate the area code you want to
extend. Then drag and drop that area code to the Extended Area Codes directory in the left por-
tion of the window. The next time you open Extended Area Codes, you will see the code(s)
you dropped into the directory. Office codes can then be programmed as allowed or restricted
for that area code by dragging and dropping them into the appropriate categories. To remove an
area code from the Extended list, move it to the Restricted or Allowed list in this User Group.
9.44 Restricted Area Codes: To prevent users from placing calls to certain area codes, place
them in the Restricted list. Double-click on
Allowed or Extended Area Codes and locate the
area code you want to restrict. Then drag and drop that area code to the Restricted Area Codes
directory in the left portion of the window. The next time you open Restricted Area codes, you
will see the code(s) you dropped into the directory. To remove an area code from the Restricted
list, move it to the Allowed or Extended list in this User Group.
9.45 Day/Night List: Note that only extensions with COS 02 can be placed in a user group
day or night list. To program the list of stations, applications, and trunk groups that are
included in a specific user group in day or night mode, select Day List or Night List. Then do
the following:
