NOTE: The NIC is a network communications processor card that can transfer data packets
between the CP Server PC and the System or between the CP Server PC and a LAN. For a
non-ATM system, two NICs are needed for LAN installations. The RJ45 connector on the NIC
connects to the LAN via a customer-provided standard network interface cable. For an ATM-
based system, one NIC and one ATM Adapter Card is required.

NOTE: PALs are not required for system versions 8.0 and later. See REPLACEMENT PARTS
for the software license part numbers.
E. SOFTWARE
This is also included on the Installation CD-ROM (part no. 827.9806).
F. FIRMWARE
827.8536 and 827.8463 are 4.X CPUX components, but will work on the CP Server.
These must be used together and cannot be mixed with 5.X chips (827.8764 and
827.8769).
