MANUAL VERSION 11.0 May 2008
Hard Disk Mirroring
20. HARD DISK MIRRORING
20.1 The CP Server PC is equipped with an ARCO DupliDisk2™ to provide disk mirroring
(RAID 1). The DupliDisk2 resides between two mirrored hard drives and is attached to the
host controller on the PC’s motherboard. For information on installing the ARCO
DupliDisk2™, refer to the installation guide included with the unit or on the CD-ROM.
21. CPU020 AND CPU020A CARD INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Place the CPU020/PCM/EAC or CPU020/PCMA Card on a clean, flat, anti-static sur-
face.
2. Check the part numbers and socket numbers printed on the labels of the software com-
ponents. The software license must match the software configuration purchased by the
customer. The boot ROM and memory map PAL should be labeled with the part num-
bers and installed in socket numbers U25 and U41 respectively. If installing a PCMA
Card for an ATM-based system, make sure an ATM PAL is present on the board (U13).
NOTE: The v7.0 ATM PAL is not compatible with v6.0 software. Make sure the ATM
PAL in U13 is the correct part number (827.9683 for 7.0 and 827.9413 for 6.0). Version
8.0, however, supports any ATM PAL.
3.
Verify that all components on the card are seated securely in their sockets and that no
pins are bent.
4. With the equipment chassis power turned OFF, insert the CPU020/PCM/EAC or
CPU020/PCMA Card in its appropriate slot in the equipment chassis.
5. If installing a CPU020/PCM/EAC Card, connect one end of the cross-connect cable to
the connector on the EAC. Connect the other end of the cross-connect cable to the
Ethernet connector on the CP Server PC.
If installing a CPU020/PCMA Card, connect one end of the CAT5 or fibre cable to the
connector on the PCMA Card. Connect the other end to the ATM Switch. Connect
another cable between the CP Server and the ATM Switch.
6. Plug both the equipment chassis and the CP Server into an uninterruptable power sup-
ply (UPS) on an isolated, dedicated circuit.
7. Attach the security key to the parallel port of the PC.
8. Connect the monitor, keyboard, and mouse to the CP Server PC.
9. Turn ON the AC POWER switches on the equipment chassis, the CP Server PC, and, if
necessary, the ATM Switch.
CAUTION
The cards and the software components are static-sensitive. Handle the cards by the
edges only and keep the components in their protective case until they are ready to be
installed. Do not bend or touch the pins of the components or subject them to a static dis-
charge. When working with the cards, use a properly terminated anti-static wrist strap.
Any static discharge (no matter how small the charge) must be discharged from the body
before touching the cards or components. The warranty for this equipment does not cover
damage caused by static or mishandling. Cards or components damaged in such a man-
ner will not be replaced.
