Devices
3.141 The Devices field allows you to configure IP devices that terminate at the IPRC. For
each device, this folder hides the hardware address, device type and the extension. IP devices
that support v8.x firmware include the IP phones, Media Gateway Control Protocol (MGCP)
gateways, SIP gateways, IP single-line adapters (IP SLAs), and multi-protocol endpoints (i.e.,
those that support SIP and ITP). This section describes how to program all of these devices.
See the following pages for information about programming devices:
IP endpoints and IP SLAs (see page 6-148)
Model 8602 IP softphone (see page 6-149)
MGCP gateways and endpoints (see page 6-151)
MGCP endpoints (see page 6-152)
SIP trunks (see page 6-152)
NOTE: In system software v9.0 and later, IP Devices display only the node and the board
number (WW:XX) in the Address field. Earlier software versions displayed an address for IP
endpoints that was similar to other station devices using the WW:XX:YY:ZZ convention (see
page 2-37).
3.142 To program the circuits for devices, the MAC address of the IP phone or IP SLA is
required. If desired, you can store the MAC addresses in a text (.txt) file and import the
information. This file should have only one MAC address per line, and each address must be in
the format XX:XX:XX:XX:XX:XX, where XX represents one or two characters. If desired, you
can enter comments after the MAC address entry, but the address must be listed first and there
must be at least one space between the address and your comments. Any other text that is not a
valid MAC address is ignored. In other words, you can enter comments or other information in
the file, but DB Programming only reads those lines that begin with a valid MAC address. See
below for an example.
This file has the MAC addresses for node 59.
12:22:33:44:55:66 IP 2000
00:23:43:32:21:44 IPSLA
55:FF:33:11:22:33
34:43:54:42:2:2
00:22:33:34:44:43
J. Doe’s Extension 00:11:22:33:44:55
This is ignored.
