IP Networking Support
IP Networking Support
4.132 Previously, the Internet Protocol (IP) Networking Module (3200N) was the primary
method to connect Inter-Tel systems to IP networks (for details on the IP Networking Module,
see the IP Networking Module Manual, document part no. 730.8001). As of version 7.0, how-
ever, a v1.x firmware networking Internet Protocol Resource Card (IPRC), a v8.1 firmware
IPRC, or a v9.0.0 firmware IPRC can be programmed to provide private networking using IP.
NOTE: The IPRC does not support modem connections and faxing over the IP network.
4.133 To use the pre-9.0.0 IPRC for private networking, the slot in the equipment chassis that
is used by the IPRC must be programmed as IPRC (Private Networking). You must then pro-
gram the voice resources and appropriate IP connection information (see page 6-12 for details).
To use the v9.0.0 firmware IPRC for private networking, you must assign a networking VoIP
resource to the IPRC in DB Studio (see page 6-145).
4.134 If programmed for IP networking, the IPRC supports 16 channels. To use an additional
16 channels (32 total), you must attach the daughter card to the IPRC (IPRC-D).
4.135 For more information about the IPC, IPRC, and IP devices, refer to the latest IP
Devices Installation Manual (document part no. 835.2195).
