Card
Minor Alarm Lit yellow when a minor alarm has occurred. The light goes out when
the alarm message is cleared as described in FEATURES on page 5-
300.
If a CPU020/PCM software upload fails while in progress (see
page 3-173), the Database Error (red) and Minor Alarm (yellow)
LEDs blink rapidly (ten times per second) and the PC displays the
reason for the failure.
External Clock
Active
Lit green when the system is receiving clock signals from an external
source (e.g., from the public network via a T1 or E1/PRI Card).
Remote Sync (PCM
Only)
Lit green to show that the remote fiber-optic connection is functioning
properly. If unlit, check for improper connection (e.g., cabling, card
seating, etc.); if still unlit, try another card.
Local Sync (PCM
Only)
Lit green to show that the local fiber-optic connection is functioning
properly. If unlit, check for improper connection (e.g., cabling, card
seating, etc.); if still unlit, try another card.
Battery Off Lit red when the battery back-up strap on the CPU Card is placed in
the OFF position. Will not light if the strap is not attached to any pins.
Also, will not light if the strap is in the ON position, but no battery is
installed.
CPU020/PCMA Card ATM Link Bad Lit red when there is no active connection to the ATM Switch.
Master and Slave Lit green to indicate when the chassis is configured as the Master or
Slave clock to the system. When the chassis powers up, both LEDs
will blip (flash quickly and remain unlit for a second), indicating that
the PCMA has not yet connected to the ATM Switch. After the PCMA
connects to the switch, the LEDs will flash, indicating that Call Pro-
cessing has not yet configured the chassis for Master/Slave. After
the clocks are configured, both LEDs will stop flashing. These LEDs
will then light, flash, or blip based on the configuration or current
state of the system.
If the Master and Slave LEDs are both blipping, the PCMA is not reg-
istered with the ATM Switch.
If the Master and Slave LEDs are both flashing, Call Processing has
not yet configured clocking.
If the Master LED is lit but the Slave is unlit, the Master chassis is
providing clock to the system.
If the Master is flashing but the Slave is unlit, the chassis is free-run-
ning.
NOTE: When a Slave chassis stops receiving timing information
from the Master chassis, the Slave will revert to a free-running state.
In the free-running state, the Slave chassis functions the same as the
Master except the Slave will not make any timing connections to other
chassis.
