• System Forwarding: System forward points can reside on other nodes. (See page 5-
223 for a description of system forwarding.)
• Call Forwarding: The network allows the user to program a manual forward destina-
tion to stations on another node. (See page 5-229 for more information about call for-
warding.)
• System Speed Dial: Each node in a network has its own system speed dial numbers.
System speed dial numbers can be used only on the node on where they are pro-
grammed. (See page 5-233 for more information about speed dialing.)
• Directories: The network displays intercom directory names and extension numbers for
all devices the user can access directly. Devices that are represented by wildcard exten-
sions will not show up in the intercom directory. (See page 5-241 for a complete expla-
nation of the directories.)
• House Phone: The house phone can be programmed to dial the extension number of an
off-node device. (See page 5-251 for a description of the house phone feature.)
• Paging: All phones and trunks within a page zone must reside on the same node as the
page zone. However, a page zone can contain external page ports on other nodes. (See
page 5-256 for more information about paging.)
• Do-Not-Disturb: Do-not-disturb works as follows in a network setting. (Do-not-disturb
is described in detail on page 5-257.)
— Each node has its own list of do-not-disturb messages that can be used only on
that node.
— An intercom caller will see another user’s do-not-disturb display when calling
across nodes.
— The network allows DND override across nodes.
• Remote Feature Programming: Remote Feature Programming is used for setting a
station’s do-not-disturb and call forwarding modes from another station or through
DISA. Remote programming can be performed on one node for any phone that is pro-
grammed as an off-node device on that node. You must go through DISA for remote
programming of any phones that are not programmed as off-node devices. (See page 5-
262 for a complete explanation of remote programming.)
• Reminder Messages: Each node has its own list of reminder messages that can be used
only on that node. (Reminder messages are described in detail on page 5-267.)
• Data Ports: A station’s data port extension can reside on another node. (See page 5-269
for an explanation of data ports.)
• Day and Night Modes: The network determines the day/night mode status of a call
based on the day/night mode status of the node where the trunk resides. (See page 5-
273 for more information.)
• Call Cost: The call cost shown on the display and SMDR output use the factors and
rates for the node on which the trunk resides. In other words, if a station on Node A
dials what is considered a long-distance number on node A, but the call is routed to
Node B where the number is considered local, the phone will use the local call cost rate
from Node B. The call rate used for calls between nodes will be based on the Network
call rate. (See page 5-305 for a description of call cost and for programming informa-
tion.)
